As the founders and creators of Coastal Seekers, our personal chronicle is inspired by a craving for adventure and a growing eagerness to become sailors. Becoming self-sufficient explorers is about celebrating the world, telling beautiful stories and starting conversations.

The thrill of doing something so challenging and intimidating as leaving our lives behind to buy a boat and pursue a life on the water has become a meaningful part of our story. But it hasn’t been all plain sailing. Instead we’ll be working towards owning a boat while we travel through Europe, whether it be walking, driving or catapulting each other all the way. Both the pros and cons of the journey have not held us back. Our ethos is to nurture the human spirits eagerness to learn and explore by sharing our story.

As a couple, we are brought together by our drive to experience life through shared-values. We believe in the kindheartedness of human nature and its aptitude to share happiness. Upholding this, we wrote Sailing Millie Home into existence.

Who is Millie and why is Josh sailing her home?

Born in Australia, I grew up with a love for the ocean and an environmental awareness that made me intensely conscious of my impact on the world. Working as a financial journalist at an international publication based in London, I was ready to get back to a natural lifestyle. Born and raised in the city, Josh wanted to escape the hustle and bustle that is the corporate lifestyle.

From the creative agency scene, Josh leads innovative teams on major ad campaigns. He has an original perspective that is artistically-driven, which is the crux of a creative project like this. Motivated by a passion to live an independent lifestyle, we’ve mapped out the route home – which takes us from Europe to Australia. Follow our journey as we pursue purpose, passion and adventure.
